Brief History
Kenya in a nutshell is undoubtedly one of the most terrific destinations in Africa in which to view wildlife. Maasai Mara, the Kenyan section of the vast Serengeti plains of Tanzania, is the scene of the annual wildebeest migration when million-strong herds move north in July and august and south again in October.
The soda lakes of the Great Rift Valley support vast populations of birds, including tens of thousands of flamingos. The mountainous country of the central highlands, comprising the Aberdares and the massif of Mount Kenya itself, lies to the north of Nairobi and is extremely rich in game.
The fertile Kenyan coast boasts broad, soft sand beaches, shaded by palm trees and protected by coral reefs, the warm waters home to prolific marine life.
